Elisa is originally from Sag Harbor, New York. Elisa graduated from Radford University in Virginia with a Bachelor of the Arts in Sports Medicine. A true scholar-athlete, Elisa balanced classes and schoolwork while playing Division I Field Hockey. In 1998, Elisa earned her certification as a personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Elisa spent eight years at East Hampton Gym and Sag Harbor Gym as a manager and personal trainer. While working as a trainer, Elisa also earned an Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Suffolk Community College. Elisa then worked for five years as a physical therapist at East End Physical Therapy in East Hampton.
In March of 2006, Elisa and her husband, Chris Carney, combined their skills and their knowledge of the industry to open the doors of Railroad Avenue Fitness.
Elisa’s unique combination of physical therapy and personal training experience is a huge benefit to her clients! She works with clients of all ages and fitness levels and enjoys watching them reach their individual goals.
Elisa is the mother of two very active young boys, Jackson and Casey, who help keep fitness a priority in the Carney household.
